Anarcho is a text editor, nothing more. It is smart enough to do most of the jobs that all the word processor posers out there are doing. Anarcho uses 150K of RAM and 35K of disk space. In these days of huge expensive applications, and limited hardware, it is nice to have something free that will fit in a small space. Anarcho will format text files that are downloaded from lesser computers including PC text files and QWK mail bundles.
COMPATABILITY
I had a little trouble running it on a Quadra 800, but it worked. I have also tested it on a II, IIci, LCII, SE, and my own Mac Plus.
THE TEXT MENU
Find is CASE SENSITIVE. You need to know if the string is caps or not. If you don't know, try "aul" for "Paul, for example.
Reset To Default turns of the text filter and converts all the text back to condensed geneva 12. If yu change these settings, Anarcho will remember nest time you launch it.
Strip Selection removes all "non-ASCII printable characters, including line feeds. Use it to remove single end of line returns. It will also format text files from a PC, as well as QWK and REP files. Some selections in these imported documents may require two passes of Strip Selection to get rid of all of the end of line returns.
Text Filter, when set, automatically strips files on opening.
Insert Character will introduce special characters into your files, like Ÿ. A dialog box that is accessed from this menu will insert characters according to their decimal code. The bunny is character number 217, for example.
